SDT is a community-based organisation established in August 2004 and is charged with promoting the sustainability of its community by gathering ideas from the residents, identifying projects, and turning these into fully-realised community assets. SDT wants to actively engage in improving the quality of life and providing greater opportunities for members of the community and follows a clear set of aims and objectives.

We’re excited to be recruiting an additional Project Officer to join the Stronsay Development Trust team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a hands-on role in supporting and delivering projects that make a real difference to our island community.

Working at SDT offers the chance to be part of a small, dedicated team at the heart of Stronsay—helping to develop local services, support community initiatives, and contribute to the long-term sustainability of the island. No two days are the same, and the role provides a rewarding mix of project delivery, community engagement, and practical problem-solving.
